New Land Cruiser equipped with transfer JF2BM, that mainly seems JF2A of former LC 200, except the new oil pump, and the same principle: 2-range with LSD Torsen type center differential + mechanical locking.


1 - low planetary gear, 2 - input shaft, 3 - oil pump rotor, 4 - gear shift fork 2, 5 - gear shift fork 1, 6 - driven sprocket, 7 - silent chain, 8 - shift actuator, 9 - rear output shaft, 10 - center differential case

Front differential - SD22B (free, 2 pinions) or SD22BN (w/ locking, 4 pinions).



Rear differential - BD24C (free, 2 pinions) or BD24CN (w/ locking, 4 pinions) or BD24CT (LSD Torsen).



The locking of front/rear differential is permitted under conditions:
- transfer L4L mode selected
- speed less than 8 km/h


Front differential. 1 - side gear (dog clutch), 2 - lock spring, 3 - lock cam ring, 4 - differential case, 5 - lock position plate, 6 - lock coil


Rear differential. 1 - side gear (dog clutch), 2 - differential case, 3 - lock plunger, 4 - lock coil, 5 - lock position plate, 6 - lock cam ring, 7 - lock spring

The principle of operation is similar to other variations of "E-locker": when current is applied to the coil, the lock cam ring moves and engages with the back side of the side gear (performed as dog clutch) so locking the differential. The state of the differentials is monitored by the lock actuation sensors.


A - normal driving, B - left wheel spinning (diff not locked), C - differential lock engaged. 1 - lock coil, 2 - lock cam ring, 3 - side gear (dog clutch)
